Xbox One Master Chief Collection 1080p Camcorder

"There's absolutely no reason why the remastered Halo 2 can't run at full 1080p at 60fps," he said. "It's the developer's insistence at being able to switch between remastered and classic modes that explains the sub-native presentation: two entire framebuffers need to be held in memory while 343 itself suggests a rather more ambitious set-up - that two distinct game engines are running simultaneously, side-by-side."

"Personally, I would have preferred the ability to disable the instant classic/remaster switcheroo in the options, freeing up the necessary resources for a full 1080p60 presentation - this would have given us the ability to bring the Halo 2 remaster into line with all of the other games in the Master Chief Collection."

However, the stages chosen for Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 3 and Halo 4 offer up some interesting first impressions. The original Halo essentially takes the form of a direct conversion of the Xbox 360 Anniversary Edition, released in 2011. Innovative in many ways, a key component of the title was the ability to switch between the classic and remastered views at any point with just a single button-press. However, there were limitations in play - specifically an 1152x648 resolution plus a 30fps cap. Both of these restrictions are removed in the revised Anniversary Edition, which targets a full 1080p60 while retaining the retro 'switcheroo' feature.

The second brace of Halo titles in The Master Chief Collection sees a transition in both developer and design ethos. UK-based Ruffian Games takes on coding duties here, and what's immediately apparent is that these are direct conversions - essentially 1080p60 ports of the original games, with little in the way of actual 'remastering'. No moves are made in updating these games for the Xbox One generation over and above pixel-count and refresh rate, but for the purist this is actually a good thing.

Our first impressions of Halo 4 are of refinement - everything is sharper and smoother - but the reality is that there were fewer issues hanging over from the last generation in need of redressing. In its new 1080p60 guise, Halo 4 is both a celebration of 343's accomplishments (we'd almost forgotten how good the performance capture and facial rendering was) but also an example of the remastering uncanny valley we also saw in The Last of Us on PS4. When it looks good, it's simply stunning, but lower quality assets - mostly ground textures in the Infinity stage - do stand out as incongruous, particularly when texture filtering doesn't show quite the improvement we would hope for.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is probably the best thing that will ever happen to any huge fan of Bungie's multi-billion dollar military sci-fi first person shooter video game franchise. Releasing in two months from now, on November 11, the game will offer completely remastered single player and multiplayer modes of the 4 main, most famous titles in the Halo series. Featuring prominent lighting and graphical upgrades, All four games included in this one package will run at native 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second, and you can check out how impressive the gameplay will be in these latest full HD screenshots and gameplay videos of Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

Packing next-gen remastered version of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4, all running at native 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second, Halo: The Master Chief Collection will most probably prove to be the best Xbox One exclusive title out in 2014. The upcoming compilation will provide complete single player and multiplayer experience of the aforementioned titles, along with their full set of add-on content, in next-gen visuals, including improvements such as advanced lighting, texture and character details, and technical fixes.

343 Industries, the developer of the game, has released ample amount of in-game content from Halo: The Master Chief Collection in past months, and today the developer has once again updated the official website of the game with some brand new, stunning 1080p in-game screenshots, reminding Xbox One users why they should place the upcoming remastered collection among top video game titles in their must-buy list. The new screenshots show amazingly detailed classic maps, including Zanzibar, Sanctuary, and Lockout, that will allow players to relive some of the most exciting Halo moments with next-gen optimizations. You can check out the latest screenshots in the gallery at the end of this post.

Developer 343 Industries listed the new and updated features of the six-year-old collection for the new consoles, including 4K resolution and up to 120FPS on Xbox Series X and 1080p resolution and up to 120FPS on the Xbox Series S.

Rumors initially emerged in January that Microsoft allegedly has another remastered collection in development. The project involved a different Microsoft IP that would receive a similar treatment to Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Microsoft has kept its lips sealed on the matter, and has not confirmed nor denied the existence of such a collection since. The rumors continued to swirl nonetheless, claiming the Mystery IP would have all of its installments compiled into a single package, with enhanced visuals and other improvements. Though at the time it was just conjecture, the rumors claimed either remasters of Gears of War, Fable, or Forza would be the obvious guesses. However, it seems more likely now that Xbox fans will receive all seven Gears of War games in a single collection.

Woohoo!! 120 fps gaming is here!! Just need to wait until xbox series ZZ or PS7 before I get a TV to utilise it. Still unlikely to be using 4K for another 10 years. Unfortunately bought a 1080p Sony Bravia few years back so if it lasts even half as long as the last Sony TV then got another 10 years to wait until I can make the most of these machines 2ff7e9595c
